This outdoor amphitheater hosts many exciting events on the beautiful River Walk. The Arneson Theatre has a unique design: located at the entrance of La Villita, the river separates the audience from the stage. In the summer months there are free dance performances almost every evening.

The Children's Fine Arts Series began in 1982 as a community project and fund-raiser
of the Judson Montessori School. In 1988, the Series became a non-profit organization.
Since then, at least half of the audience is composed of students from
underserved areas. Generous contributions from the community make it possible
for the Series to serve 30,000 children each year.
Empire Theatre
Built in 1914, The Empire Theatre sat vacant until a remarkable group of local citizens raised the funds to renovate the theatre. The Empire theatre is currently undergoing renovation to restore it's majesty. The theatre is within walking distance of the River Walk and most downtown hotels.

Converted from an old movie house, this building is a symbol of municipal and private efforts to revitalize a neighborhood.
