Many of the regulars to this festival are the Japanese Conjunto fans. The largest festival of its kind in the world, the "squeezebox" (diatonic button accordion) reigns supreme and there is 42 hours of live music with approximately 30 of the best bands in Tejano/Conjunto music. Las Posadas is a traditional event in San Antonio where local citizens, choirs, visitors and Mariachi join members of the San Antonio Conservation Society to re-enact the search by Mary and Joseph for shelter. Led along the River Walk awash with tens of thousands of Christmas lights and traditional Luminarias, the candle-lit procession sings traditional Posada songs and Christmas carols as it winds its way to the Arneson River Theater. Here, the Holy Family finds a humble stable for shelter and the procession is welcomed with song and celebration, followed by a piñata party at Maverick Plaza. Free. (210) 224-6163
