Artist's Statement My artwork consists of personal imagery based on my experiences as a child living in a predominantly American community of Mexican descent. Living in a border town was a unique experience and I enjoy playing with the paradoxes of life through the eyes of memory.
I feel that I am making a contribution to my community by bringing subtle elements to my painting that describes the nuances of a specific world and time. My intention is to create work that encompasses the unique nature of culture and heritage.
My philosophy of art is that true experiences enlightens the viewer to celebrate the wonderful universality of the human experience in all cultures.
