The IRIS (intense resolution imaging system)is a state-of-the-art digital color printer capable of producing highly accurate color and black and white prints. This unique continious-tone technology creates a print by giclee (pronounced gee-clay, with a soft "g" as in Gigi), derived from the French verb glicer, which means "to spurt, squirt or splash." The inks are transferred to archival paper at a rate of 4 million + micron droplets per second. The result is a print with exceptional depth and saturation of color as well as extreme detail, without any discernable "digital" mark.
