The mission of this web page is to assist the growth of Children's Theatre into the 21st century by expanding the resources and information into Cyberspace. Before you begin reading, we'd like to tell you that this site is aimed primarily at an adult audience (of course it is certainly acceptable for children) searching for information on children's theatre and where to go for certain resources.

Shakespeare's Globe

The original Globe opened in 1599, burned down in 1613, was immediately rebuilt. It was closed in 1642. Now, 200 yards from its original site, after almost 400 years, Shakespeare's Globe has been opened to the public again: it was officially inaugurated by Her Majesty the Queen on Thursday 12 June 1997 and its Opening Season ran from 29 May to 21 September 1997. This website provides information on the reconstruction of the Globe and an archive on Shakespeare in Performance at the Globe, featuring illustrations and texts on the building of the original Globe, staging at the original Globe and staging at the New Globe.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG)

TCG is the national organization for the American theatre, encompasses a constituency of more, than 300 theatres located throughout the United States that present performances to a combined annual attendance of more than 17 million people. Founded in 1961, TCG provides a variety of artistic, administrative and informational services to theatres and independent theatre artists, TCG serves as a resource for the profession, the media, funding agencies and the public. Its chief programs include grants and awards to theatre artists and institutions; conferences, workshops and roundtable's; government affairs; surveys and research; a national arts employment bulletin; and a publications program that produces a line of books and periodicals, including plays and anthologies, resource and reference books, and works of theory and criticism, as well as the magazine American Theatre.
