National Endowment for the Arts

The National Endowment for the Arts, (NEA) is an independent agency of the Federal government charged with supporting the arts in America for all Americans. See home page for guidelines andfor grant applications, programs and deadlines for submission. If you have seen a play, heard a symphony, spent a night at the opera, or been thrilled by a dance performance, chances are you have benefited from the work of the Arts Endowment. If, in the past 30 years, you have read a book of poetry or short stories, watched a great performance or an American drama on public television, visited a museum or visual arts exhibition, chances are you have participated in an event made possible through the direct or indirect support of this Federal agency. If your children met an artist-in-residence at their schools, if you took the family to a folk arts festival, if your city or town suddenly has become more livable through smart design, chances are the National Endowment for the Arts has played a role.

Write your Texas congressional representative and thank them for their good work throughout supporting the National Endowment for the Arts.

Texas Cultural and Arts Network (TCAnet)

TCAnet is a comprehensive computer network on the Internet operated by the Texas Commission on the Arts as a means of meeting its mandate of "Developing a Receptive Climate for the Arts in Texas." TCAnet is intended as a one-stop location whose purpose it is to shepherd the arts and cultural industry in the state to doing business electronically. Through its World Wide Web interface, TCAnet is available to the people of Texas, the nation, and the world. This site is the most comprehensive arts resource site in the state of Texas. Mid-America Arts Alliance

Organized in 1972 to “bring arts and audiences together”, Mid-America Arts Alliance is a private not-for-profit arts organization. Its activities encompass traveling exhibitions, performing arts touring programs, special projects, artists residencies, and related services. While MAAA conducts national and international programs, its member states are Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas

Western States Arts Federation (WSTAF)

WSTAF is dedicated to offering projects and services that will insure continued access to these life-enhancing artistic experiences. It is The largest of 7 Regional Arts Organizations in the United States, Founded in 1974 as a private nonprofit corporation, WSTAF believe in the cultural resources of the American West and has as its purpose the advancement of artists, audiences, and arts organizations of the region. This is accomplished by developing and coordinating unique projects and services across state boundaries and through the creation of partnerships between arts organizations and arts professionals. Participating states include Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
